I am Esther.

Hi I’m Esther. I’m an architect, artist and technologist.

I’m at DDC to work with people who are good at things that are completely different from things I’m good at. I’m here to use my skills to help people realize their goals and dreams, to let people help me realize mine. Also, most importantly, I’m here to inspire and be inspired.

I’m interested in the difference (or non-difference) between fantasy and reality, between the digital and the physical. Please visit my website at www.escdesign.net.

Intro to Chloë for DDC 2011

Who am I? Why am I here? What am I interested in right now?

Today I posed these three questions to Eyebeam’s Digital Daycampers. I think it’s only fair that I answer them as well.

I am Chloë Bass, an artist and content creator. I am a native New Yorker, a relatively good cook, and a consistent collaborator. I am at Digital Daycamp 2011 to investigate the potential of limits, use mapping as a form of both archeology and prophesy, and set sparks. Right now, I’m interested in the power of food to create or change community groups, the possibility of building livable space in apocalyptic places, and the requirements of inventing a complete world.

Hi!

I am Nidhi. I am a designer+technologist and my portfolio is pretty fresh and can be found here. I also shoot film on a old camera and post it on my blog.

Hello, It’s Heather

Hi, I am Heather. I am one of your tutors. We will be helping you out with technical, logistical, organizational, and other stuff. I am a Master’s Degree student at The Media Studies program at The New School. I study sound—in all its forms. My first love is radio. I helped establish and now am the Associate Producer of www.newschoolradio.org—an internet radio station.

I collaborated with others to create an interactive map called the Urban Research Tool or URT. For this project, I researched the history of pigeons in New York City. I can tell you way too much about Pigeons…

In October I am going to Berlin, Dresden, Prague, and Brussels with this thing called the Radio Television Digital News Foundation. I will be working on my thesis, which is called “Weimar Radio Aesthetics and Politics,” and I’ll make a documentary about this cool place called the Haus des Rundfunk. Can’t wait!

In the mean time though, I am here to help you out with your projects in any way that I can. I am already super impressed with your technical skills. BUT If you ever get stuck, I can help you figure things out.

Here’s my best advice for working with technology: be patient and don’t get too frustrated; mistakes will be made, but, believe it or not, you WILL survive! (and save)

Welcome, DDCampers.

I’m Chloë, one of the teaching residents for DDC 2011. I currently have two lives: first as a person (usually an artist), and second as an organization. While my personal website is regrettably under construction at the moment, you can read the Internet along with me at the Eyebeam Reblog and look at my organization’s life here.
